Our Story

Logos Counseling Initiative, founded by Jonathan and Leah Smith in 2025, began with a simple conviction: that every person is created with inherent dignity, purpose, and worth. Born out of a desire to integrate faith, meaning, and mental health, our practice was created to walk alongside individuals, couples, and families as they navigate life’s deepest challenges.

Both Jonathan and Leah have spent many years in the mental health field, both personally and professionally. Through their own counseling journeys and their work with others, they have seen firsthand the profound impact of safe, high-quality mental health care. Their vision for Logos Counseling Initiative is to create a space where others can encounter the same transformation and hope.

At Logos Counseling Initiative, we don’t just offer therapy—we create space for healing, growth, and the rediscovery of purpose amidst suffering. This is our story, and we invite you to make it part of yours.

The word Logos (pronounced LAH-gahs) is the Greek word for "Word" and is used in John 1 to describe Christ as God's truth, wisdom, and life made known to the world. It is also the foundation of logotherapy, the psychological approach developed by Viktor Frankl, which teaches that meaning and purpose are essential to human flourishing.

We chose the word Initiative because healing is an active journey. More than a counseling practice, we desire to be part of a movement that brings hope, healing, and lasting change to individuals, families, and our community.

Together, Logos Counseling Initiative reflects our belief that lasting healing is found at the intersection of God's truth and the search for meaning. Our mission is to help people discover clarity, purpose, and hope as they move toward the life they were created to live.
