FAQs

  • Your first session is an introduction — a chance for you and your counselor to begin building a foundation of trust. During this appointment, you’ll discuss what brings you to counseling, your goals, and any concerns you’d like to focus on. Your counselor will ask thoughtful questions to better understand your background, experiences, and current challenges.

We’ll also go over important details such as confidentiality, policies, and the structure of future sessions.

  • Each counseling session lasts 50 minutes. In the beginning, most clients find it helpful to meet once a week to build consistency and momentum in the process. As you begin to make progress and feel more stable, we can adjust the frequency — for example, meeting every other week or as needed.

Session frequency is always a collaborative decision between you and your therapist, based on your goals, needs, and what feels most supportive for you at each stage of your journey.

  • At The Logos Initiative, we believe that healing begins with meaning. Our approach is grounded in the conviction that every person is created with inherent dignity, purpose, and worth — and that lasting change happens when we rediscover what gives our lives direction and significance.

While we draw from evidence-based therapies to address mental and emotional health, we also invite space for deeper questions of purpose, faith, and identity. For clients who desire it, we integrate Christian faith in a way that is thoughtful, respectful, and never forced. Our goal is to help you find both relief and renewal — not only to feel better, but to live with greater clarity, peace, and purpose.

At its heart, The Logos Initiative is where meaning meets mental health.

  • Not at all. While Logos Counseling Initiative offers faith-informed counseling for those who want it, we work with people from all backgrounds, beliefs, and perspectives. Many of our clients do not identify as Christian, and therapy is always centered on your goals, values, and needs.

Our approach is first and foremost professional, compassionate, and evidence-based. If faith is something you’d like integrated into the process, we’re glad to do so. If not, therapy will focus solely on your mental health, personal growth, and well-being.

  • We do not bill insurance directly, but many of our clients are able to use their out-of-network benefits. Upon request, we can provide a superbill—a detailed receipt of your sessions—that you can submit to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement. We also accept Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards, making it easier to use pre-tax dollars for your care.

If you’d like, we recommend contacting your insurance company in advance to ask about out-of-network mental health coverage so you know what to expect.

  • We understand that counseling is an investment — both financially and personally — and we want to make it as accessible as possible. A limited number of reduced-fee or sliding scale appointments are available based on financial need and counselor availability.

If cost is a concern, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re happy to discuss current options and help you find a plan that works for your situation. Our goal is to remove barriers where we can.

  • We understand that life can be unpredictable and schedules sometimes change. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we ask for at least 24 hours’ notice.

Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur a half-session fee, regardless of the reason. This policy allows us to honor the time we’ve reserved for you and ensures fairness to both our clients and therapists, as it’s often not possible to fill an appointment on short notice.

If something unexpected comes up, we’re happy to explore options to reschedule within the same week, as availability permits. Our heart behind this policy is not punitive—it’s about maintaining consistency, respecting time, and supporting the rhythm of your healing process.

  • You can schedule an appointment directly through our client portal, where you’ll have access to your counselor’s availability and can request a time that fits your schedule.

If you’d rather connect personally, you’re welcome to reach out by phone or email, and we’ll help you find the best available appointment. Once your request is approved, you’ll receive a confirmation and any necessary intake forms to complete before your first session.
